This year is the first of what may be many birthdays that will be celebrated miles apart. It will not be easy, but I would rather have her hours away and serving God than to have her living at home in rebellion and apathy. Summer is beautiful both inside and out, and we are so thankful for her and her desire to serve God and others. We know that she isn't perfect, but she is growing in Christ and seeking after Him, and we could not ask any more for her. So as we celebrate our firstborn tomorrow, we do so with thankful hearts, looking forward to seeing her in just a few days. I can't wait to get her home and hear her stories about Haiti, E-Team, Truth and Peace, her week spent in Nashville between; and I am looking forward to hearing laughter and guitar music coming from her room again. We love you, Summer Dawn!
