As I was reflecting on the crucifixion and resurrection today, a new thought occurred to me. In our modern Christianity, we celebrate Good Friday in recognition of the fact that Jesus died on the cross in payment for our sins. Then we celebrate Easter Sunday in celebration of the fact that he did not stay dead. He arose and lives forever! What we do not give much thought to is that Saturday. Typically our Saturday is spent preparing for our various Easter celebrations with church and family. How different that Saturday was for the disciples and other followers of Christ. They spent that day hiding in fear, confusion, and uncertainty. What would happen now? Would the Jews search for those who followed Christ in order to kill them next? They did not have a clear understanding of what was happening. In that moment, I'm sure their futures looked bleak.
Peace came for the followers of Christ when they saw his face, his hands, and his feet. They knew that he was alive! I am so thankful that we already know what happened that Sunday morning. The reason we don't give much though to that Saturday is because we have the joy in knowing that Sunday's coming!
Last year on my kids birthdays, I did a photo story of each of them using pictures from their birth to the present. Since I did that last year, I was just going to post a picture and some comments on their birthdays this year, which is what I did this morning for Autumn. When the girls decided to go back and look at Autumn's post from last year to see her pictures, they discovered that I didn't start my blog until April of last year. Mom FAIL! So here it is, Autumn's life in pictures.

Anyone who knows Autumn knows that there is never a dull moment with her around. She is always making us laugh, and you never know what she's going to say or do. We love having her to keep us entertained. As we celebrate her today, I am thankful for her sense of humor, her quick wit, her incredible ability to clean and organize without needing to be told what needs to be done, her constant help with her brothers, and most of all her heart for the Lord. She is beautiful inside and out, and we are thankful that God gave her to us.
